Jeftha, an almost fifteen-year-old Jewish orphan, learns from his dying grandmother that his mother died bearing him after she had been violated by a Roman--one of those hated conquerors of Jeftha's homeland. The boy's hatred grows when he tried to find other relatives in Galilee and is mistreated by Roman soldiers along the way.
Tricked into slavery, he finds himself the personal servant of a centurion named Julius. Thus Jeftha embarks on a fateful voyage with Julius and his notable prisoner, Saul of Tarsus.
During the eventful journey that ends in storm and shipwreck, Jeftha makes many discoveries: about hate, about forgiveness, about his father, about himself, and above all about Jesus Christ, whom Saul of Tarsus serves as Lord. Jeftha also becomes a servant of the Lord Jesus and finds in him freedom, friendship.....and even family
